The Challenges
1 /
Unfinished Look
The lawn and planting areas had become overgrown and visually disconnected from the updated interior of the house, making the entire property feel less cohesive than it should have.
2 /
Poor Parking Experience
The original straight driveway left no comfortable transition space beside the vehicles so homeowners are hard to get out.
3 /
Broken Edging
The old concrete borders were cracked, hollow, and distorted. They no longer provided clean separation or reliable support
4 /
Freeze-Thaw Risk
In a Canadian climate, repeated freezing and thawing can steadily worsen cracks, surface failure, and pressure against the garage area.
5 /
Water Pooling Near The Garage
The driveway had sunk close to the house and garage, creating the wrong drainage direction and allowing rain and snowmelt to collect where they could do the most damage.

1 /
Front Yard Refresh
To complete the project visually, we cleared the overgrown planting areas, regraded and prepared the soil, installed fresh sod, and selected cleaner low-maintenance softscape elements that fit the character of the renovated home.
2 /
Driveway Curb Support
Instead of reusing fragile concrete edging, we installed dedicated driveway curb elements to create stronger boundary definition and better lateral support for the interlocking structure. This also helped manage the grade transition between the driveway and the lawn.
3 /
Interlocking Walkway Expansion
Based on the homeowners' parking habits and vehicle use, we extended hardscape space along both sides of the main driveway. These walkway zones created a much more comfortable and practical place to step out of the car without landing in grass, mud, or snow.
4 /
Structural Grading And Drainage Correction
We removed the damaged asphalt and failing concrete, then reworked the base and grade to establish a more deliberate drainage slope. This allowed rainwater and snowmelt to move away from the house and garage more efficiently instead of collecting near the structure.<
Our Solution

The Result
Daily Use Convenience
Expanded side walkways and a cleaner landscape layout made everyday parking, unloading, and moving through the front yard feel easier, cleaner, and more considered.
Better Water Protection
With corrected grading and stronger edge support, the homeowners no longer have to worry about the same pattern of water pooling near the garage and the long-term damage that can follow.
Stronger Curb Appeal
The new interlocking driveway gave the property a more finished, higher-end appearance and created a front entrance that feels more in step with the interior renovation.
